Meet My Character Tour: Wyatt Burke

Welcome to the Meet My Character Blog Tour! Thanks to New York Times bestselling author Diane Capri for inviting me to play along. Over on her blog, we met her character Jessie Kimball. She tagged me to answer questions next, so here goes!
For the questions below, we’ll focus on how they relate Wyatt Burke in Uncertain Beginnings.
1) What is the name of your character? Is he a fictional or a historic person?
Sergeant Wyatt Burke. He's a fictional character.
2) When and where is the story set?
The story is set in modern day, in the fictional town of Uncertain, California. Uncertain is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas in Northern California, and though it is based in reality, they play by their own set of rules, and the terrain may be a bit rougher.
3) What should we know about him?
Wyatt has internal scars no one will ever see. He's a veteran of the wars in Iraq, and though he was born and raised in Uncertain, he's been around the world, and has seen more than any human being should be allowed to see. He loves hard, and let's go even harder.
4) What is the goal of the character in Uncertain Beginnings?
Wyatt's goal is to find the person who killed his officer. What starts as a homicide case, in the end becomes personal.
5) What is the personal goal of the character?
Inner peace, justice for all. He knows he'll never fix all of the bad guys, but someday he wants to feel like his town will be safe enough that he can raise his kids there. If he ever has kids.
6) Where can we read more about Uncertain Beginnings?
Right here! I'll be blogging more and more about the Uncertain series, and Unlucky 7, as we get ready to launch the Unlucky 7 anthology.
Uncertain Beginnings is the prequel to the new Uncertain mystery/suspense series I'm launching for 2015. Expect to see the new series launch by the end of 2014 with the first book, Uncertain Calm, which will introduce the main character in the series, Harper Leigh.

7) Will Wyatt ever find peace, have kids?
I don’t know! That’s the fun of writing the series for me. I write for the same reason I read — to find out what happens! I learn the answers along with everyone else, I just learn them first!
I now tag Hildie McQueen and Jenna Bennett to follow us on this blog tour. Thanks, Hildie and Jenna!
