Welcome author Carolyn Scott

Carolyn Scott has published contemporary short stories in women's magazines on two continents including Take A BreakWoman's Day and That's Life. She has at various times worked as a librarian, IT support person and technical writer but in her heart has always been a fiction writer. Book Title: Finders Keepers Losers Die

Murder, mayhem, and more shady characters than she found in Hollywood are turning bit-part actress Cat Sinclair from a crappy secretary into a powerhouse in the P.I. business. If only someone would inform her boss.

When Will Knight refuses to take the case of a jilted wife who's only after what's rightfully hers, Cat decides to help her on the side. But when the ex-husband turns out to be a mobster, and dead, Cat needs all her acting skills to keep her stressed-out but sexy boss from learning of her involvement. And to keep the killer from coming after her.

Hi there. My name is Carolyn Scott. I live in Australia, down in the south eastern part. Like all Aussies, I love the beach, barbies (not the skinny doll kind, the ones that cook), and other summer activities. I’ve worked in a law firm library as well as in IT support and as a technical writer. Every single one of those  jobs is as boring as they sound. It was during one of those boring jobs that I came up with the character of Cat Sinclair, the snarky ex-actress and wannabe P.I. in Finders Keepers Losers Die. To stave off the boredom in my various jobs, I used to write stories when the boss wasn’t looking even though I was supposed to be working. Cat is the same. She usually falls asleep or surfs the net to escape the mind-numbing boredom of her office job for a P.I. firm. Fortunately, I never got caught. Cat...well, you'll have to read Finders Keepers Losers Die to find out what happens to her.

There’s a lot of me in Cat. She’s got attitude and everyone thinks she’s tough on the outside, but underneath it all, she has a heart of gold. She loves her friends, her family, and even grows to like her boss in a, er, special way.

I'd love to know if there's anyone else like Cat and me out there. Do YOU find yourself watching the clock and counting down the minutes until you can leave work?

  1. Thanks for joining me today Carolyn. I'm sure this is the middle of the night, so if you aren't able to comment back, no worries. And yes, unless I'm writing, I watch the clock, because I want to get home so I can write.

  2. I have the best job in the world - author - so no, I don't. I usually lose track of time when I'm working, and end up missing quitting time. :)

  4. Thank you Jamie! It's morning now and I'm awake! (or I will be after my coffee).

Thanks for having me on your blog.

  5. I'm pretty sure clock watching is in my job description. Is this book part of a series?
