What is a Twitter Party?

A Twitter Party is a fast and fun virtual party, using the Twitter platform. Usually held in the evening, Twitter parties typically last 1-2 hours. They are a fun way to meet people and discuss relevant topics, such a books, eBooks, and writing. (hint, hint)
Our Party is May 11, 2012 at 6:30pm Pacific (8:30 central/9:30 eastern)
Yes, there will be party treats, and giveaways, but you have to join in and tweet to be eligible.
How does a twitter party work?Twitter users tweet with a specified Hashtag (#) for the party. Our hashtag is #5Authors. You can follow the party chat on TweetDeck by entering a search column with the hashtag, OR the easiest way is to log on to www.tweetchat.com/room/5authors
What should you wear?
Come as you are and don't worry if you don't get the hang of it right away. Our party, with 5 authors and lots of guests may go at breakneck speed, but don't worry about trying to read every tweet, just take part in the conversation and chat with everyone. Or you can sit back and read. Don't forget to catch your breath, because we don't want you to choke on the party treats.
If you are using TweetChat, you should have the ability to STOP or PAUSE the timeline, and still not miss new tweets.

I'm shy, what do we talk about?
The topic of the #5Authors Twitter Party Writing: books, eBooks, writing, publishing, etc. Feel free to ask questions of the party hosts, Martin Crosbie, Jennie Bentley, ViviAnna, Lucie J Charles, and me (Jamie Lee Scott), or just join in the conversation.

  1. For some unknown reason, the notion of a Twitter Party as you described it sounds fun and exciting to me! I don't know what that says about me--but I'm game! "See" you on the 11th!

    1. MK should really try this! Stop by and see how it works. I moderate 2 chats, so I'm a bit experienced.
