Conflict: Who Needs It?
Without conflict, you don't have a compelling story. And you need a compelling story to sell your novel or screenplay.
Look at the successful sitcoms on TV. Yes, I said sitcoms, not dramas. Every story revolves around conflict of some kind, and the silliness that ensues during the pursuit of controlling it. So, if you write comedy or drama, you need to consider conflict.
