Knock Out Punch

See the person you are and see the person you can be when you punch your doubts’ lights out.

Doubt paralyzes us. It keeps us from following our dreams, writing that book or screenplay, asking for that raise, or applying for yet another job. But doubt is really the devil inside you keeping you from those dreams.

When self-doubt raises it's ugly head, give the the jab, cross, hook combo, then finish it off with an uppercut. Literally. When you feel the poison of doubt creeping up, put your arms up and punch. I use the  jab cross, hook motions, and if I don't feel like I've knocked self-doubt to the floor, I finish with an uppercut. And if that's not enough, I do it again. In a public place, I do it mentally. But there have been many times I've been sitting at my computer, I've written 2-3 pages, and then I think, "What the hell? I have no idea what I'm doing. Why am I wasting my time?" When I'm writing, I know it's time to take a break and do some shadow boxing with my ego (which I believe is the home of self-doubt). When I'm done, I've usually worked through my issues and I'm ready to tackle the world.

What about you? What do you do to punch doubt's lights out?
