Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.
When I was transplanted to the Midwest, I had a great idea that moving half-way across the country would change my life for the better. But when I got here, I had a bad experience. Instead of letting that experience move me to be a better person, I held a grudge. And believe me, I'm good at holding a grudge.
For more than 10 years I kept myself from being happy. And even now I find myself slipping back into the negative attitude I harbored for years. I had that "someday" attitude, instead of realizing my some day was today. I was my own worst enemy. My thoughts were keeping me from being happy. Of course it took years for me to realize this, and sometimes I still try to blame others. But on the days I remember, my mental attitude will reflect my happiness and success, I'm so much happier.
What about you? Do you have to put your mental attitude in check?
